Howdy, dear fans of the.ego.tripper, long time huh! I haven’t even had the chance to wish you a wonderful 2014 yet. But never mind that, more important is to celebrate 2014 and we’ll do that today in cooperation with ibis. You see, ibis recently opened its 1000th hotel and invited the.ego.tripper to celebrate this impressive accomplishment in their renewed ibis Kurfürstendamm in Berlin. Actually, they held three celebrations on three continents simultaneously: at ibis Surabaya Basuki Rahmat in Indonesia, ibis Berlin Kurfurstendamm in Germany and ibis Rio De Janeiro Botafogo in Brazil.

Since its launch in 1974, the ibis brand has become the benchmark for economy hotels. Following the brand’s revolution two years ago which brought together the ibis, ibis Styles and ibis budget brands together under one umbrella, the ibis brand has enjoyed sustained growth, with 52 per cent of Accor’s openings in 2013 being under the ibis family. Including ibis budget and ibis Styles along with ibis, the ‘megabrand’ boasts over 1700 hotels (of which: 1000 ‘plain’ ibis hotels).

So far for the theoretical side of things, now back to the party. And to ibis Ku-damm, with its 180 modern, sound proof and air conditioned rooms. And new sleeping comfort! Actually, all is good at this ibis! There’s a 24 hour check-in service and storage, free wifi in the entire hotel, a loading point for electric vehicles, vaults, breakfast service from 4am till noon, a 24 hour bar and a stylish design. Check it out:
